A lot of people have asked me about the name “Communications Tool & Die“.  What does it mean?  Why did we choose such a strange name for the company?

As we mention on our Diemakers page, the term “Tool & Die” comes from the manufacturing industry, where tool and die makers are highly skilled workers who produce the tools necessary for complex manufacturing processes.

There are plenty of companies out there who can design a web site.  But how many of them are going to give you standards compliant XHTML with CSS, DHTML, custom JavaScript that all validates?  How many of them can integrate a blog or e-commerce package theme seamlessly into an overall site design?  How many can create custom applications that meet the specific communications needs of your business?  How many are thinking about whether your web site is usable by the blind or navigable by search engines?  Not nearly as many.

That is what Communications Tool & Die offers.  If the tools to do the job exist, we’ll use them.  If they don’t, we’ll make them.  We’ll do whatever it takes to get your message across in the most professional, accessible, and usable way possible.
